According to a recent Geohealth research article from the AGU (American Geophysical Union), researchers found that “N95 respirators offer protection against wildfire PM2.5, reducing exposure by more than a factor of 14 and hospitalizations by 22%–39%.”¹ In plain English, the study shows that N95 respirators could offer protection from wildfire smoke if worn properly during exposure.
